Becoming a director




Brendan Reid shares great advice to jump from Manager to Director. He followed it up with moving to Vice President level. Knowing these, you can observe your current leaders in these posiitons and see what you could glean from their behaviors and thoughts.

One of the attributes of a Director is the ability to grow great managers. Look at this triumvarate of Director, Manager and Leader to map where your strengths and interestes lie. If you like the technical side of things, going up the ladder, you could be a manager. If you are interested in the people side of things, then you will be a leader that your employees trust in. They will let you know so.

To go from a Leader to Director, enlarge your vision to include the mission.
